Costume Characters for "Nightfall" and “Holidays at Filoli”

Do you have a flair for the dramatic and a passion for creating unforgettable moments? Filoli is seeking friendly and enthusiastic Costume Characters to bring our Nightfall and Holidays seasonal events to life!

As a Costume Character, you'll be a key part of our family-friendly Nightfall story. You'll spend your shifts in character, interacting with guests, and posing for photos in a designated area of our historic House or on the hiking trail.

Key Details

• Role: Temporary Experience Representative - Costume Characters

• Hourly Rate: $26.00 per hour

• Schedule: Rotating evening shifts (6 hours each - 18 to 30 evening hours per week expected) from late September to mid-November. The schedule will be provided at least two weeks in advance. There may be future opportunities for more shifts for Holidays at Filoli from mid- November to mid-January.

• What we provide: All costumes, makeup, and accessories.
   

What you'll do

• Act it out: Portray a character from our Nightfall storyline, improvising and adapting to each guest interaction.

• Be the part: Stay in character while in the public eye to create a truly immersive experience for our guests.

• Be a team player: Work with diverse staff and guests, follow all safety policies, and be ready to adapt to the needs of the event.

Who we're looking for

• Theatrical experience: A background in costumed acting, improvisation, or guest services is a plus.

• Engaging personality: You should be a strong communicator who can engage with people of all ages and backgrounds.

• Flexibility: You're available for evening and weekend shifts and can be flexible if the schedule changes.

• Physical readiness: While in costume, you'll need to stand for 4-5 hours at a time and walk across uneven terrain.  You should also be able to lift up to 30 lbs.
