Grow Your Career at Filoli: Development Communications Intern
Filoli is more than a historic estate; it is a vibrant community dedicated to beauty, history, and belonging. We are looking for a creative, motivated college student to join our Development team.
As part of our summer cohort, you won't just be "an intern"—you’ll be a Filoli Ambassador. You will work alongside staff experts, collaborate with fellow interns, and gain an inside look at how a world-class nonprofit garden and museum operates.
The Details

Dates: June 15 – August 21, 2026 (We can be flexible based on your school calendar!)

Pay: $23.00 per hour

Schedule: Full-time (30–40 hours/week), generally Monday–Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm.

Note: Some weekend and evening hours will be required for special events.

Location: Woodside, CA. Please note: Housing and public transportation are not available.
The Role: Storytelling & Engagement
This internship sits at the heart of Development (Fundraising). Your mission? To help us tell the story of Filoli in a way that inspires deeper donor engagement and grows our audience.
What you’ll do:

Create Content: Draft engaging emails, blog posts, and articles for our printed newsletters.

Get Creative: Capture and edit social-media-style vertical videos that highlight the impact of our members and donors.

Design & Pitch: Update pitch decks and marketing materials to help us reach new heights.

Donor Outreach: Assist with weekly donor thank you calls and donor research as needed.

Be the Face of Filoli: Interact with visitors during our exciting seasonal public programs.
Who You Are
We are looking for someone who views diversity as an asset and enjoys working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Student Status: Currently enrolled in a 2 or 4-year college (including rising freshmen!).

Communicator: You have strong writing skills and feel comfortable talking to everyone from visitors to long-time donors.

Tech-Savvy: You have basic experience with video editing, MS Office/Google Suite, and perhaps a little image editing.

Adaptable: You’re ready to work 9:00am–5:00pm, with the flexibility to help out during some evening or weekend events.

Active: You are comfortable being on your feet, walking the beautiful (and sometimes uneven) terrain of the estate, and can lift up to 25 lbs.
